West coast swing is a versatile partner dance with roots in lindy hop. It emphasizes partner connection and musicality and has great potential for improvisation. It can be danced to several genres of music from blues, rock, pop, country, and more. As a swing dance it’s more grounded and stays in a slot, meaning the partnership stays in a line that doesn’t rotate or move side-to-side. It's a challenging style, yet very rewarding when you get it right.
